British Council 2013 Graduate Programme

The Graduate Programme is now closed for applications and will reopen in 2014. In the meantime, please explore the rest of the site as we are constantly looking for more opportunities to study, work and create with the British Council.

 

Where can I go?

In 2013 there were nine locations available: Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Italy, Russia, Greece, Libya, China and Kenya.

 

What is the salary?

£23,000 per annum. You will also receive a travel grant as well as one return travel fare to the UK per year. Find out more about the graduates benefits package.

 

Am I eligible?

If you are a recent graduate with at least a 2:1 average and have excellent language skills, this could be the opportunity for you.

You will also need the right to work in the UK.

 

What is the availability?

In 2013, there were two types of roles available:

  • The Global Network refers to our eight regions: the UK, EU Europe, Wider Europe, the Middle East, Sub-Saharan Africa, South Asia, East Asia and the Americas. The roles available are extremely varied and would be tailored to a candidate’s experience and expertise. This position is available in Libya, Greece, Italy, Russia, India, China, Bangladesh and Pakistan. 
  • English has been at the heart of British Council's cultural relations work since 1943. We're now seen as a world authority in high-quality English language learning, teaching and assessment, reaching over 175 million teachers and learners. Graduate opportunities in this team are available in Kenya.

What is the application deadline?

The deadline for 2013 has passed. 

If you have already applied there are a number of stages to our recruitment process. Here are the provisional dates for each stage, however please be aware that they may change:

Final application deadline 7 May
Online testing 15 May
Telephone interviews 20 May
Language testing 3 June
Assessment centres 2-4 July
