We will be launching a number of community-based projects during 2007-2008 to engage diverse community groups. These projects will be designed in collaboration with local partners and will focus on one of the two Living Together themes of minority and new migrant communities.
We will use our networks to help create new relationships and collaborations across borders. These cross-border collaborations will provide an important opportunity to examine the issues, compare experiences, gather resources and connect thinking.
We will develop a database of partner organisations involved in community-based work across Europe and in the UK (to be launched later this year). This will enable organisations to develop their own cross-border partnerships with counterparts in neighbouring countries.
Establishing partnerships across borders encourages awareness and dialogue between national governments, civil society and citizens. Through this multi-lateral approach, we will encourage the development of links between communities and nations. We will encourage partners across Europe to share their experience of working with communities and develop joint initiatives that enhance the interaction of these communities. Projects will also include some elements that focus on working with young people. Four multi-lateral projects are planned:

LoFT (Leap of Faith Together) - is based around a simple idea: working as a team enables individuals to understand one another. The project will involve a series of multi-lateral, intercultural collaborations, developed in partnership with the UK-based Faith Regen Foundation. |

Being seen, being heard - We have all been part of a minority at some time - in the playground, in a strange city, in a foreign country. But what is it like to be a minority in your own country and feel that you are neither respected nor understood? This youth-based project will aim to surface and address some of the issues around minorities. |

Migrant Cities - This project aims to promote intercultural understanding in (and within) South East Europe and the UK, by exploring issues associated with migration and demographic change and its impact on society, at both the sending and the receiving end. |

Imagine Your Future - We will work with the media to eliminate stereotypes and create an enhanced understanding of minorities and new migrant communities. |
