International exchange to bridge the skills gap

To address long-term systemic challenges in vocational education and training (VET) we are holding seminars for policy makers, employers and leaders of industry on the important role the business should play in VET reform and identifying skills needs.

More than 200 VET stakeholders from 18 countries were engaged in 07/08 discussions on key issues such as quality assurance, occupational standards, curricula development, national qualifications and credit frameworks, and common skills challenges faced by governments in a global economy.

Key themes have now been taken up by ministries and other VET agencies as a result of the policy dialogue seminars and are being embedded in the local context in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Montenegro, Kosovo, Turkey, and South Caucuses (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia)
