What is funded?

The DCSF TIPD Programme funds:

  • international return flights
  • insurance
  • accommodation costs, usually on a twin-share basis
  • internal travel overseas
  • visas and vaccinations where these are a requirement of entry into a particular country

The DCSF TIPD Programme does not fund:

  • travel to LA pre-departure seminar(s) or debriefing(s)
  • UK travel/accommodation costs (e.g. airport transfers)
  • supply cover. LAs or schools must cover the cost of supply if they agree that teachers may released during term time.

Teachers participating in TIPD visits overseas continue to receive their salary.
