The TIPD programme is a development opportunity for teachers in England.

Please consult the list of profiles below to check your eligibility. If your situation is not covered here please Contact Us.

Each Local Authority designates a co-ordinator for TIPD activity. They will manage local publicity and recruitment, agree the priority theme(s) for study visit groups, and act as main point of contact with us.

I am a qualified teacher…
You must have gained at least two years' experience, following the award of your Qualified Teacher Status, by the time the visit takes place.

I am a teacher based in an off-site unit…
You may apply if partnered by a school-based colleague.

I am a Primary headteacher…
You may apply if you teach for more than fifty percent of your time.

I am a supply teacher…
You may be considered if you have two years' teaching experience and have been in your current post for at least one term.  Your headteacher must provide written justification as to why you are preferred to a full-time permanent member of the teaching staff.

I am a Teaching/Learning Support Assistant …
You may be considered although your headteacher must provide written justification as to why you are preferred to a full-time permanent member of the teaching staff.

If you apply, you should also be able to demonstrate a real interest in the value of the international dimension in education and a flexible attitude towards exposure to alternative systems and practice.
