"Many thanks for your support, we had a very good trip. The group and the activities matched very well. We learned a lot and our schools will benefit." LA group visit to Norway (Creativity)
We deliver the majority share of the opportunities which are funded by the TIPD programme. Since January 2001 we have sent more than 8,200 teachers to over 70 countries.
We
- administer the programme
- work with LAs and schools for the benefit of all participants
- determine the visit destination for Study Visits
- secure visit itineraries and school placements with local hosts
- arrange international travel and insurance
- arrange local accommodation and arrange or advise on local travel overseas
- process all necessary funding
- co-ordinate the submission and assessment of reports and disseminate outcomes
- disseminate outcomes through briefing meetings, conferences and other media
In many cases a British Council office is the key co-ordinating contact overseas and we are represented in 110 countries. All our offices are able to provide support to visiting groups if necessary. We also have a growing network of partnerships with education ministries and other national agencies around the world. These enable us to access good practice and encourage the sharing of experience between our teachers.
