Our Partnerships

"The British Council is a partner we really value and trust. On the ground, around the world they have the access, contacts and people to make things happen."
Richard Scudamore, Chief Executive, Barclays Premier League, UK

Since 2008, British Council has facilitated over 70 international skills partnerships in more than 30 countries. These partnerships have enhanced the skills and employability of millions of people around the world. They have seen the development of new, industry-led curricula across a wide range of sectors, enhanced the quality of training, introduced new and effective employer engagement approaches, aided the development of progression routes, delivered life-changing opportunities for college staff and students, and helped to shape national skills strategies. More about what our partnerships have achieved can be found here.

British Council is currently funding 30 partnerships between the UK and nine countries to deliver projects covering over 15 sectors, from finance to fashion and construction to creative industries.
