Skills around the World: Yemen

The Ministry's main area of focus lately has been to enhance the quality of institutions and improve graduates’ skills. As a result, the Ministry has developed quality standards.

Quality standards

The quality standards cover measures to evaluate:

the performance of head masters
the performance of section heads
the performance of teachers / instructors
activities of institutions in relation to the surrounding environment
the performance in stores and workstations.

The Ministry has also developed an admission test to measure the readiness, skills and capabilities of students joining vocational education training.

Quality courses

The Ministry has recently conducted several quality training courses in the Aden and Taiz governorates. Participants included principals, headmasters of technical and vocational institutes, deputies, and the staff of the standards department in the Ministry.

The courses covered information, concepts and principles, as well as specific quality regulations for vocational education training.
