Entrepreneurship and Enterprise

This is offered in some programmes as a compulsory subject, and in others on a college-by-college basis.

The Central Johannesburg College has a Centre for Employment and Entrepreneurship Development (CEED) which offers a variety of internationally recognized workforce development programmes to address curriculum shortfalls and assists students and alumni in becoming employable.

The Western Cape Education Department (WCED) has sought a solution for their 6 colleges. The DASSIE (Distributed Advanced Strategic System for Innovative E-learning) project is a blended learning (e-learning) project, initiated by the WCED in partnership with German based IT and e-Learning companies, and the German government’s technical co-operation agency (GTZ). One of their Strategic Priority Areas is to create a culture of entrepreneurship by introducing entrepreneurship training in all curricula.
