The General Directorate for Design & Development of Curricula oversees the curriculum for Saudi Arabia.

The General Directorate for Design & Development of Curricula is the body within Technilogical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC) which is responsible for curriculum development in the Saudi Arabian VET sector.

The Directorate works with international organisations and leading teaching institutes to create national curricula for Saudi Arabia. It also uses specialised committees to prepare vocational standards, taking into account input from industry and the expertise of curriculum designers.

Two main specialist committees

The industry Sector Team:
The Required Skills Identification Team:

Which is responsible for identifying the required skills for the specific programs.

The Curriculum Designers Team:
The Curriculum Preparation Team:

Which is responsible for the design of the programme curriculum.

The teams meet annually to review the programmes, in order to ensure that the curricula reflect new developments.

Latest plans

New plans include:

developing a scientific example to use as a base for developing training packages in technical colleges
studying the plan used in technical colleges to determine the educational curricula
forming and developing the educational and training objectives of the creative thinking curriculum
suggesting a training programme to qualify trainers for the creative thinking curriculum in technical colleges.
