Employer Engagement

Organisations and important employers occasionally hold career exhibitions to increase awareness among Qatari students and parents of career options available within Qatar, and to provide them with an opportunity to meet and interact with government agencies, companies and organisations. One example is the Qatar Career Fair 2009 that was held by Qatar Petroleum along with Qatar Foundation, Qatar University and the Ministry of Labour .

Occupational Standards

Qatar does not have its own National Occupational Standards. Instead its qualifications are based on the standards of the provider body or provider nation. Where necessary, the local training provider will include Qatar specific components or may adapt an internationally recognised qualification to meet local needs.

Because of the size of the country, employers can speak directly with training providers. Qatar Petroleum provides training which focuses very specifically on the standards the company itself is operating.
