Each year, British Council work directly engages more than 30 million people worldwide, and reaches nearly 600 million people through digital media, radio and television and in the UK, we provide opportunities for more than 3 million people to improve their skills and gain international experience.

Our Skills for Employability programme brings together international agencies, governments, employers, educators and students from the UK and the world through seminars, conferences, competitions and collaboration projects with the aim of supporting education and training systems that are better able to respond to market demands.

Skills for Employability support partnerships that focus on developing education and training programmes to meet the needs of local and global industry. To date, we have facilitated 65 partnerships that have increased employer engagement, encouraged entrepreneurship, have facilitated student exchanges and developed new qualifications and quality assurance systems.
