Going Global 2013

Dubai World Trade Centre, 4 – 6 March 2013

Going Global 2013 is taking place in the heart of Dubai, one of education’s fastest growing territories. The event will offer sponsors and exhibitors the opportunity to increase their profile with leaders in international education while they debate to what extent internationalisation affects nations, communities and cultures around the world.

Going Global attracts ministerial officials, heads of universities and colleges, top level vocational figures, senior academic staff, directors of NGOs, business leaders, policy makers and impassioned visionaries from over 80 countries across the globe.

The Going Global 2013 conference ‘Global education: knowledge based economies from 21st Century nations’ will seek to examine to what extent education systems and structures that underpin knowledge economies need to be internationalised. The conference will be held from 4-6 March 2013 at the World Trade Centre in Dubai and is expected to attract the world’s leaders in further and higher education from more than 80 countries.

Call for proposals

We are seeking proposals that will facilitate the sharing of knowledge and experience around the conference themes. Our goal is that all those attending will be inspired to put new ideas into practice following the event. We welcome unique perspectives, and we are especially interested to hear about practical examples of how you have anticipated and responded to challenges and opportunities in your own work. Successful proposals will link policy and practice, for example by explaining how specific experiences in the education sector have informed policy developments.

As in previous years, Going Global 2013 will include a series of formal conference sessions. You are invited to submit one of the following proposals:

Paper presentation (15 minutes), addressing the following areas and questions, deadline 17 September 2012

Research and innovation - the role of international collaboration
Developing skilled knowledge workers: the role of international collaboration
Internationalising tertiary education structures and systems.

Poster presentation (45 minutes allocated for one-to-one discussions), deadline 23 November 2012
