Skills around the World: Nepal

The National Skill Testing Board (NSTB) was created in 1988 and its work includes developing occupational standards and maintaining a dialogue with employers about vocational education and training. It includes committee boards for all sectors - e.g. mechanical engineering, agriculture and hospitality - which are responsible for setting standards.

So far, the NSTB has developed occupational skill standards in the following professional areas: library, music and dance, agriculture, automobile, computing, construction, electrical trades, electronics, health, hotel and tourism, mechanical, printing, renewable energy, and tailoring/garments.
