Quality assurance
Skills around the World: Kuwait

Currently, there is no national quality assurance system in Kuwait.

The NVQs on offer are quality assured by a cadre of local assessors and external verifiers, many of whom are Indian and familiar with the NVQ methodology. The Institute for Private Education and Training (IPETQ) also has its courses quality assured by UK bodies.

The technical institutes are keen to implement rigorous quality assurance procedures, as the efforts to comply to ISO standards indicate, and the Telecommunications Institute has now initiated procedures to apply a total quality management system.

ISO accreditation

The Telecommunications and Navigation College gained ISO9001 accreditation in 1997 and since than has exhibited satisfactory compliance with the ISO standards throughout the Institute, an achievement it maintains is unprecedented in the Middle East.

Courses at the Industrial Institute also have ISO accreditation.
