Overview of Vocational Education Training system
Skills around the World: Kuwait

The Kuwaiti government is committed to providing the local labour market with a technically trained Kuwaiti labour force. Considerable sums are being spent to upgrade existing facilities, and new premises are being built for some of the technical institutes. The government is also taking steps to create the basis of a unified vocational education system and qualifications framework by developing occupational standards.

The Centre for Community Service and Continuing Education (CCSCE)

CCSCE offers non-degree courses for students over the age of 16. Subjects include languages, arts, administration, education, engineering, computing, law and secretarial studies.

The Public Authority for Applied Education and Training (PAAET)

PAAET oversees the government’s vocational education and training policies, and provides training in various fields of study. PAAET runs four colleges that focus on: basic education, business studies, health science and technological studies. It also runs institutes that specialise in: electricity and water, telecommunications and navigation, industrial training, nursing, construction and vocational training.

In addition, PAAET runs tailored courses to cater for specific business requests.
