Skills around the World: Jordan

The Jordanian vocational education and training (VET) sector is making careers guidance a priority.

The Vocational Training Corporation is developing a careers guidance service that is particularly aimed at enhancing female enrolment and helping people who are disadvantaged or have special needs. However, there is a lack of qualifications available for careers counselling and there are limited careers guidance opportunities.

The Centre for Human Resource Development undertakes labour market analysis and has helped to develop a comprehensive resource related to supply and demand in the labour market. This appears on its website, alongside an electronic careers guidance system.
