Jordan

Under its National Agenda, Jordan has undertaken a major programme to develop its technical and vocational education and training system.

As part of its strategy to address human resources development, the government is restructuring the Technical and Vocational Education and Training Council (TVET Council), chaired by the Prime Minister. It will become known as the Employment and Technical and Vocational Education and Training Council (E-TVET Council) and will be chaired by the Minister of Labour.

The E-TVET Council will play an umbrella role, gathering together every issue and organisation related to the E-TVET sector.

It will address the following key items on a national level:

The multiplicity of national technical and vocational education and training providers.
The lack of a common national strategy for these providers.
The absence of coordination and collaboration among providers.
The lack of systematic development at a sector level.
