There are two main branches of learning in Jordan: professional and vocational. The vocational ladder has five levels: semi-skilled, skilled, craftsmen, technician (higher technical) and professional (specialists, university degree).
The Ministry of Education programmes allow for progression to community college or university. There is a progression route from vocatonal education and training (VET) to higher education (HE), but the VET graduate would need to study an additional component set by HE (e.g. physics and mathematics for an engineering course).
