Links between Vocational Education and Training and industry

There are two-way links between the Vocational Training Council (VTC) and industry. Consultancy services are provided by VTC faculty members and VTC partners with companies to create customised training programmes. Meanwhile, business and industry figures sit on the VTC Council to advise on direction.

The VTC also runs graduate placement services, which provide:

Employers with a single contact point at various campuses
Students with career advisory services to enhance their employment prospects.

New Graduate Trainee Scheme

Under a new Graduate Trainee Scheme, VTC helps to source and match suitable graduate candidates for employers in a range of different fields, and advises companies on government employment management support, if available. Trainees are VTC Higher Diploma/Diploma graduates aged up to 24 in a wide range of disciplines. Employers provide six months of on-the-job training.
