Hong Kong

In Hong Kong, the Vocational Training Council (VTC) is the main provider of vocational training for school leavers and adult learners.

The VTC is a statutory body established in 1982 which offers a wide range of qualifications up to higher diploma level and training programmes. In the 2007-08 academic year, it provided some 160,000 full-time and part-time places.

The VTC also advises the Hong Kong government on measures required to ensure a comprehensive system of vocational education and training that fulfils the needs of the Hong Kong economy.
