The Egyptian Accreditation Council is the sole national body for the assessment and accreditation of conformity assessment bodies whose activities include testing, calibration, inspection, and issuing certificates for products, systems and working personnel.

EGAC is a non-profit body affiliated to the Ministry of Trade and industry. The Council is governed by a board of 14 members, representing all stakeholders and concerned bodies.
