Secondary School Certificate Vocational (SSC Voc)
This lasts for two years during school grades IX and X. Students are required to attend 1,512 periods of instruction in the institution plus an 8-week on-the-job attachment in a year. They are available in 500 secondary schools, 64 vocational training institutes, private training schools and 12 technical training centres.
Higher Secondary Certificate Vocational (HSC Voc)
This is a two-year programme during school grades XI and XII. HSC (Voc) students are required to attend 1,512 periods of instructions in the institution plus 8 weeks on-the-job attachment training in two years. The entry requirement for HSC (Voc) is SSC (Voc) in the respective specialised areas. HSC (Voc) courses are offered in 64 vocational training institutes.
Higher Secondary Certificate Business Management (HSC BM)
For this course, students are required to attend 1,440 periods of institutional instruction in a year plus an 8-week on-the-job training attachment. The course covers five specialist areas: computer operation, secretarial science, accounting, banking and entrepreneurship. The entry requirement for the HSC (BM) course is any type of Secondary School Certificate. The HSC (BM) course is offered by 242 institutions.
Technical education programme
This is designed to produce a mid-level technical supervisory workforce. Courses last for three years and the entry requirement is a Secondary School Certificate. The courses are offered mainly in polytechnic, agricultural and textile institutions, as well as in institutes specialising in forestry, printing, glass and ceramics.
All courses are accredited by the Bangladesh Technical Education Board (BTEB).
