Ministry of Labour and Social Security Occupational Skill Testing Authority

This standard-setting organisation is responsible for: labour market, research and employment agencies, and vocational guidance; technical equipment for vocational training; curriculum research, development and promotion; implementation of distance vocational training; participation in the formulation of national occupational standards and the national vocational qualification certificate system; regulation of technical knowledge; organising and managing the national vocational skills appraisal system; management of the annual National Vocational Skills Appraisal survey and assessment; statistics information gathering; and processing and analysis of employment, vocational training and vocational skills. It organises international cooperative projects related to employment, vocational training and vocational skills certification.

China Vocational and Technical Education Association

This is a voluntary association for vocational and technical education, vocational and technical education workers, and academics with different expertise. Its primary objectives are to: carry out vocational and technical education based on scientific research, pilot projects, teaching reforms and academic exchange activities; and provide information and reports about vocational and technical education at home and abroad for vocational education decision-making. The association also offers advice and recommendations.

Chinese Workers Education and Vocational Training Institute

The Institute promotes the development of education, vocational training and skills, by comprehensively improving the quality of workers, work culture and facilities. Also known as the Chinese Staff Association.

China Adult Education Association

This association comprises voluntary national adult education groups, adult education workers, and academics with different areas of expertise. Its primary objectives are to: plan, organise, coordinate and evaluate adult education activities to promote adult education research results and experiences; carry out academic exchange activities among national and regional adult education organisations and adult education teachers; carry out various forms of continuing education and job training for adults; and provide other adult education services.

Institute of Vocational and Technical Education

This national vocational education research and development agency coordinates work done by similar agencies at a local level. It is directly managed by the Ministry of Education. The Institute’s main task is to research vocational and technical education and act as a consultant for related organisations. It also assists policy development based on research and pilot projects, collaborates with other ministries, and works with enterprises and overseas and domestic organisations.
