Skills around the World: China

According to the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, the representative bodies involved in skills in China are mainly sector associations and sector skill councils. They cover fields such as business, construction, lights, textiles, logistics, coal, building materials, machinery, steel, construction and petrochemicals.

Many associations act as consulting and training institutions. They have their own training centre and teaching resources, and regularly organise skills training courses according to market demands and business needs.

Employer organisations involved in skills training include the following:

China General Chamber of Commerce
Chinese Department Store Business Association
China Hair and Beauty Association
China Business Enterprise Management Association
China Machine Tool Industry Association
China Instrument Industry Association
China General Machine Components Industry Association
China’s textile business associations
China’s city commercial network construction management federation.
