Throughout 2009-11, PMI2 Connect will continue to offer pump-prime funding opportunities to build partnerships between institutions in the UK and in selected countries worldwide. All funded partnerships will be mutual and complementary, and be sustainable beyond PMI2 funding.
PMI2 Connect has so far successfully funded 235 Higher Education international partnerships in research, collaborative delivery, student exchanges and the development of strategic links at institutional level
Over 70 partnerships involving over 250 institutions worldwide have been created globally under PMI2 Connect between Further Education colleges on a range of teaching, learning and skills development activities and exchanges.

As a result of the latest call for funding via the joint M1/M2 Prospectus, we are pleased to announce that this year some 48 UK FE colleges are beneficiaries of grant funding in support of partnership projects across Measures 1 and 2, along with a further 61 overseas colleges. At present, there are 32 PMI2 FE Partnership projects taking place with the following country partners: China, India, Vietnam, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Thailand and U.A.E. Cross-border higher education in Nigeria: The British Council has been asked to identify UK institutions with links already in Nigeria to be part of a pilot scheme to run cross-border higher education (CBHE) in Nigeria. |
