A written examination, covering the skills of Listening, Reading and Writing. There are six IESOL levels: Preliminary, Access, Achiever, Communicator, Expert and Mastery. The upper levels, Expert and Mastery, are recognised by many English speaking universities as evidence of language proficiency for entry purposes. Young ESOL are ESOL qualifications designed for candidates aged 8–13. There are two levels: basic and elementary.
A reliable and user friendly test of real speaking ability in English, offered at six levels: Preliminary, Access, Achiever, Communicator, Expert and Mastery . Testing is by one to one structured interview with a member of the centre staff (who plays role of an Interlocutor) and who knows the candidate and so can help them feel at ease. This staff member – the Interlocutor – doesn’t rate the candidate's performance, they just manage the interview and act as a conversation partner. We provide clear instructions and a comprehensive training pack to help interlocutors. The test is recorded on audio cassette or CD and sent to City & Guilds where it is marked by trained examiners. Available at 3 levels (Elementary to Advanced) and focuses on the candidate's ability to perform in real business in English. These exams evaluate understanding and writing of business communications in English. Level 1 (Elementary) requires learners to understand and write simple letters, memos, faxes and e-mails. Level 2 (Intermediate) involves the understanding of more complex business communications, writing letters and memos and drafting faxes and e-mails and other business-related documents. At level 3 (Advanced), learners need to understand a wider range of business communications, write letters, faxes and memos in response to a wide range of situations and prepare notices, speeches, adverts, articles, and other business documents.
Aims to demonstrate accuracy in the use and transcription of English, and the ability to perform office-related tasks to spoken or written instructions. They're suitable for those who need to carry out tasks in English where accuracy in writing and following instructions is important. There are 2 levels available. Both levels involve the demonstration of accurate spelling and punctuation, writing down a spoken message, reading comprehension, knowledge of vocabulary, and proofreading.
Is a qualification specifically developed for candidates who need to use spoken English in the workplace. This qualification is ideal for those who work in business in an English speaking country or in a multinational organisation which uses English for internal communications. The qualification is offered at 3 levels –stages A, B and C.
