The Peacekeeping English Project works closely with government ministries in order to establish secure and impartial English language testing systems for the military, border guards and police.
One of our main objectives is to foster a common understanding of military testing to NATO STANAG 6001 standards.
The Project has also provided training for testers and has established national language testing teams.
Since 2003 the Peacekeeping English Project has organised three major international testing conferences.
Trained testers from the Project have:
- been involved in the European Commission's DIALANG Project.
- designed online language tests for the British Council's in2English website in China.
- carried out testing consultancies for NATO and the Royal Norwegian Armed Forces.
- given presentations at major international conferences - including BILC, IATEFL and EALTA.
