Welcome to the British Council's Above and Beyond conference for schools and local authorities.

This year, we’ll be showing you how international school partnerships and professional development schemes can help you build links with your communities and develop your young people into global citizens, with the knowledge and skills to thrive in the 21st century global economy.

We’ll be giving you a whole host of practical ideas and support to help you put government policies into practice.  You’ll find out how international work meets the new community cohesion duty, as well as supporting Every Child Matters and the Children’s Plan.

Discover new ways to look at identity, migration and nationality, bring global enterprise into your classroom, and get the whole community engaged in an international partnership.

And find out how you can access funding and support for your international work, through our unparalleled range of international partnership programmes and professional development opportunities.

We’ll have inspiring speakers, practical workshops and a major exhibition of leading education organisations, as well as plenty of opportunities to network and share good practice.  Whether you’re an experienced international practitioner, or just starting out, Above and Beyond can help you put global citizenship at the heart of your school and community.
