Postgraduate - Short courses

As part of your postgraduate degree, a short study course abroad can enrich your studies whilst in global institutions of academic and research excellence.

Lots of postgraduates have already found that studying abroad opens up a wealth of opportunity, and it’s an excellent way to discover another culture. You can study at internationally acclaimed research centres with great facilities and state of the art equipment.

You can find out about international postgraduate opportunities through your university. Postgraduate short courses are often research-led and your home institution may have established links with partner universities abroad. Your Master’s or PhD advisers will be able to tell you more, as well as your international student office.

If you are planning a short course abroad it’s also worth looking at what scholarships and programmes are available. The BNET Commonwealth Scholarship  for example, offers a three-month teaching and research scholarship for postgraduate students in Nigeria, including funding.

There are other options available, including the Erasmus and Erasmus Mundus schemes. The Erasmus Mundus scheme is an EU postgraduate programme managed in the UK by the British Council that provides a global Doctorate and Master’s exchange initiative. You can find out more on the Erasmus Mundus homepage.
