Professor Xie Weihe has been Vice President of Tsinghua University since 2004. Prior to this appointment, he was Vice President of Beijing Normal University from 1992 to 2002, and Chairman of University Council, Capital Normal University from 2002 to 2004. He has a PhD in Philosophy from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences in Beijing and his research interests include the principle of education, education sociology, and the pedagogy of higher education. His published works cover contemporary youth sociology, basic education and higher education analysis. He is also a deputy to the National People’s Congress, Vice Director of the National Council of Higher Educational Management Research and Executive Member of China Education Association for International Exchange.
