Dr Imad Alatiqi is Secretary General for the Private Universities Council. His academic positions include teaching at Kuwait University and Bahrain University. Dr Alatiqi has served more than 20 years in the Kuwait Supreme Petroleum Council, the highest policy authority on oil issues. He has also served for 10 years in various committees, councils and executive groups responsible for establishing, monitoring, and reviewing the performance of private universities. He is a founding member of the Private Universities Council and founder of the General Secretariat of the Private Universities Council. Dr Alatiqi has held various management positions, including Director of Petroleum, Petrochemicals and Materials Division at Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research from 1988-90, Director of Research Administration at Kuwait University from 1991-94, and Dean of the College of Engineering and Petroleum at Kuwait University from 1998-2000. He received an MSc and PhD in Chenical Engineering fromt Lehigh University, USA in 1985.
