Ewan Dow is currently teaching at the University of Maastricht Language Centre in the Netherlands and carrying out research towards his final dissertation as part of the University of Bath’s DBA in Higher Education Management. He has an MBA in the same field from London’s Institute of Education. Between 1999 and 2004 he was based in mainland China, first in Guangzhou and then in Beijing. He has held various teaching and management positions in the area of languages in the UK and overseas, including Director of Bath’s English Language Centre and Deputy Director of the Department of Languages and Translation at the University of Surrey. A graduate modern linguist in French and German, his early career was spent at the University of Innsbruck, first in the English Department and then in the Language Centre of the Social and Economic Sciences.
His professional interests include Language Training Methodology, Discourse Analysis and Teacher Training and he is particularly interested in the interface between Europeanisation and internationalisation in H.E.
