Carina Hellgren is Head of the Unit for Higher Education at the International Program Office for Education and Training in Sweden. The unit administrates all international exchange programs for higher education in Sweden such as Erasmus, Linnaeus-Palme, Tempus, Nordplus and Minor Field Studies. Carina Hellgren was formerly a work-life researcher and, within that field, internationally active, both with various cooperation projects within Europe and with developing countries. Recently the International Program Office for Education and Training has been allocated resources for evaluation and follow-up, which has make it possible to further develop the exchange programs. Carina Hellgren is also the co-president of the Forum for Internalisation, a body that was formed in late 2008 to increase the coordination between public authorities working with questions relating to increased internalisation in higher education. The Forum is operated by The International Programme Office for Education and Training together with The Swedish National Agency for Higher Education.
