Professor Amy Bik May TSUI is Pro-Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President (Teaching and Learning) of The University of Hong Kong. In this capacity, she assists the Vice-Chancellor in setting the direction and policy for the university’s undergraduate curriculum reform, teaching and learning, and quality assurance of the undergraduate and postgraduate curricula.
Professor Tsui concurrently holds the position of Chair Professor in the Faculty of Education. She obtained her PhD in linguistics in 1986 at The University of Birmingham, UK, and has published widely in the areas of teacher education, classroom discourse, discourse analysis, and language policy. She serves on the editorial / advisory board of a number of international refereed journals. Her latest books include Learning in School-University Partnership: Sociocultural Perspectives (2009, co-authored with Gwyn Edwards and Fran Lopez-Real, Routledge/Taylor Francis); Language, Culture and Identity in Asian Contexts (2007, co-edited with James Tollefson, Lawrence Erlbaum Associates).
