Alice Hynes was brought up in Yorkshire and London; taking a degree in English at the University of Exeter and an MA in Medieval Studies at Birkbeck College London.
Her working life began in a stockbrokers and then in sales before joining the staff of Senate House in London. She has extensive experience in higher education - having most recently worked on university level projects at the University of Liverpool; as the Vice Principal of Dartington College of Arts; at Kingston University as Academic Registrar and also at Roehampton Institute. As an Assistant Director with the QAA and for HEQC in the late 1990s, she had responsibility for a range of institutional audits, overseas audit visits and for the Access Course recognition processes with the FE sector.
Alice Hynes is a Chartered Secretary, a Fellow of the RSA and a member of both the Association of Project Managers, the Institute of Leadership and Management.
