China is currently reforming its education system. A draft of the national mid and long-term education reform and development plan, the 2020 strategy, has been issued for a 2nd public hearing, and this process will finish on 28th March 2010.
But what impact is this likely to have on the higher education sector? Is internationalisation part of the reform agenda? What role will the government play in supporting internationalisation in the future and what are the challenges facing Chinese institutions as they seek to internationalise?
The panel will discuss the impact of the reform on the ‘internationalising’ of higher education and the policies and approaches they have taken to working with international partners.
