Wendy Waring is Head of FE/HE programmes, British Council Northern Ireland. Wendy took a BA Hons in French and Classical Greek at Goldsmiths’ and Birkbeck Colleges, University of London. She taught English in Northern France for a year as part of her degree and upon graduation, spent a further year teaching English in Spain. Wendy returned to N Ireland and completed an LCCI diploma in European Business Administration and a European Executive Certificate at the Belfast Institute for Further and Higher Education. Her interest in teaching English continued at Queen’s University in Belfast where she completed a year long TESOL certificate course in 1998 which she was awarded with High Commendation and then a Masters in English language teaching in 2000. She taught English at a UNESCO summer camp in Poland in 1993 and in 2002 taught English at a summer course in the University of Leon, Spain. Her career with the British Council has seen her work on a wide variety of EU funded programmes.
