Tony Crooks
Director International, The University of Melbourne, Australia

As teacher, administrator and diplomat, Tony Crooks has over 25 years’ experience in international education around the globe.

As Director International at the University of Melbourne, he oversees the University’s international marketing and admissions functions, the International Relations Office, Study Abroad and Exchange, as well as a network of University of Melbourne offices overseas.

Before joining the University, Tony had taught at schools in France and Japan; spent a decade in Indonesia as Director of the Indonesia Australia Language Foundation; led the international operations of IDP Education Australia; spent three years at the Embassy in Washington, D.C. as Executive Director of the Australian Education Office; and served in Chile as the Australian Government’s inaugural Education Counsellor for South America.

Tony has been involved in business activities in over 50 countries. He is fluent in French and Indonesian and speaks, with varying degrees of proficiency, German, Spanish and Japanese. He has been awarded an Achievement Medallion by the Australian Government for his career contribution to Australia’s international education industry and serves on the Board of the International Education Association of Australia.
