Professor Colin Grant is Dean and Vice-President, International Relations at the University of Surrey. He holds a Professorial Chair in Communication and Social Theory and undertakes both teaching and PhD supervision within the Department of Sociology. Professor Grant’s academic career has included periods in Brazil as well as in France and Germany. Professor Grant is responsible, with the International Relations Office (IRO), which he heads, for developing and coordinating the delivery of the University of Surrey’s Internationalisation Strategy with especial emphasis on Global Networks, Global Graduates, and Global Faculty and Staff . The IRO has particular responsibility for developing a Global Partnership Network. Professor Grant is a member of the University’s Executive Board and Chair of the Executive Group for the Surrey International Institute, Dongbei University of Finance and Economics, Dalian, China.
Professor Grant participated in session 3c - Regional trading blocs: competing for students and knowledge in a new era of globalisation.
