Dr Jennifer M Kidd is a Reader in the Department of Organizational Psychology, Birkbeck, University of London, where she is Course Director for the MSc degree in Career Management and Counselling. She has a first class degree from the University of Keele and a PhD from the University of Hertfordshire. She is Co-Editor of the British Journal of Guidance and Counselling and also a Chartered Occupational Psychologist. Her writing and research in the field of career development and career management span 30 years. Her most recent book is 'Understanding Career Counselling: Theory, Research and Practice' (Sage, 2006), and her current work focuses on career well-being and the role of emotion in careers.
