David Law
Pro Vice-Chancellor, Edge Hill University

David Law is Pro Vice-Chancellor (Students and External Relations) at Edge Hill University in the Liverpool region in NW England. Following a first degree in History at Sussex University and postgraduate study in Area Studies at Glasgow, David began his academic career as an international historian. After university teaching and academic research both at Glasgow and Keele Universities, including sabbatical leave as a Visiting Research Fellow at Harvard University, David became an Academic Registrar first at Hull University and then the University of Warwick. At Warwick, David was asked to lead on the development and implementation of the University’s internationalisation strategy, becoming Director: Warwick International. He extended the range and scope of the University’s international partnerships. David has also contributed to a UUK research project led by the International Unit, “Managing International Activities in UK Universities” and presented papers on internationalisation at the British Council’s “Going Global” conferences. David is a Board member of UKCISA, the UK’s Council on International Student Affairs. At Edge Hill, David oversees the provision of the high quality services the University provides for its students, including the Careers Advisory Service. He is also responsible for the University’s international development.
