Are international partnerships a one-way street – MP3

Outline:

International links between universities are now moving into a new era: there is a real desire for academics and universities to work in true partnerships that provide a win win outcome to all involved. In a true partnership there are valuable lessons to be learned for both sides. But does this link model work in developing countries as well as developed countries?

  • What are the real benefits of partnerships?
  • Does it have to be a one-way street?
  • Which partnership models support true mutuality?

In this session we will hear from a number of partnerships and projects that demonstrate mutual benefit. We will take a look at the Pakistan UK HE Links, now with a three year history; BRAC University in Bangladesh and SHEP: strengthening higher education project (World Bank) in Afghanistan.
