English Language Testing (ELT)

Password is the new online English language test which has been developed for the growing number of international students taking pathway programmes leading to an undergraduate or postgraduate university course.  Password is appropriate for students joining EAP, foundation, pre-masters and long pre-sessional courses.

The test is delivered by accredited Password Test Centres in many different locations around the world and, in addition, is available for use by universities and colleges who wish to place international students reliably on arrival into pathway or bridging programmes which include English language study.  University and college users can also use the test when interviewing students overseas.

Password takes one hour to complete, is securely delivered and assessed online, and test takers are given instantaneous test results. Results from this thoroughly trialled and validated new test are accurate, reliable, and secure.

Password has been designed by CRELLA, a research centre of leading academics in the field of English language testing and assessment at the University of Bedfordshire.    The University of the Arts London, the University of Reading and the University of Southampton have also been involved
