Aptis scoring

Contact us

Candidate performance in each skill is mapped to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). An Aptis candidate will receive a score on a numerical scale (0 to 50) for the grammar and vocabulary section, and a score on a numerical scale (0 – 50) and CEFR level (A1 – C) for each skill they take. This will make up the candidate’s profile of language proficiency.

Aptis takes a unique view on how to deal with test error (standard error – a feature of all tests). Candidates near a decision point (e.g. the border between B1 and B2) will have their score on the grammar and vocabulary paper taken into account when a final CEFR grade is awarded. This greatly enhances the accuracy of their result. More accurate results help you to achieve effective and focused recruitment, evaluation and English training.
