Schools that started the application process during the 2019-20 school year

We will leave the current application deadlines open and schools that have completed their activities in full can submit their applications for Accreditation and Reaccreditation this year.

For those of you that have not managed to complete all your activities, we are giving you the option to submit your application with as many of your activities completed and evaluated as possible, and we will assess these as they are.

We would still like you to tell us about at least four international activities that took place in your school classrooms (physical or virtual), demonstrate at least one of your activities has been in collaboration with an overseas partner school, and at least one of your activities has covered language learning and culture. Please note we would like to see what the school original plans were, how you have tried to adapt and be flexible and what you eventually managed to do.

If you are applying for Reaccreditation, please note there are no changes to the international ambassadorial role requirement, so we still want to hear what you have done to assist and inspire other schools in the UK with their internationalism.

The other option would be to continue your international work for the International School Award into another school year (2021-22) and submit your Impact Evaluation with next year’s deadlines in June/July 2022 with a full set of activities. Schools that will continue with the application next school year, can submit applications with activities spanning over the three school years. This means schools can use the activities they have already completed last year (2019-2020), as well as this year (2020-2021) and any they complete next school year (2021-2022).

If you decide to postpone your application yet you are due Reaccreditation this year and are applying at the moment, we will extend the accredited status by one year. This means that the accredited status will be valid till 31 August 2022.

At the time being we do not plan changes to the application process or deadlines, but we will be reassessing the situation on regular basis.

The deadlines will be announced here towards the end of this school year. The Action Plan deadline is likely to be mid-November 2021 and the Impact Evaluation deadlines in June 2022 and July 2022.
