Thirty young Kenyans are embarking on post-graduate scholarships to study in the UK as part of the Tullow Oil Scholarships Scheme.
The graduates will undertake their studies in fields relating to the oil and gas industries during the 2015-16 academic year, helping to up-skill this sector in Kenya.
In August, the British Council Kenya hosted a farewell reception for the scholars in Nairobi, attended by representatives from Tullow Oil and the British Council.
The candidates, who underwent a rigorous interview and selection process, represent a wealth of talent, ready to drive the future of the oil industry in Kenya forwards.
The Tullow Oil Scholarship Scheme is creating awareness, cultivating skills and elevating the standards of the oil and gas industry in countries across Sub-Saharan Africa.
The scheme is also creating a pool of highly skilled local experts that will complement the growth of the industry across the region.
