The British Council is supporting Zambia’s Ministry of Education, Science, Vocational Training and Early Education to improve the country’s education sector.
Through the DFID-funded Zambia Education Sector Support Technical Assistance project, we are working with partners to achieve improvements across the sector.
A focus on strengthening leadership and management and building capacity across all levels is helping to improve service delivery, while the Ministry of Education is being supported to develop stronger financial management systems.
Access to and the availability of data for evidence-based planning and budgeting is also being improved, and the professional standards, qualifications and capacity of teachers are being enhanced.
We deliver the programme in partnership with Ecorys, the Forum for African Women Educationalists of Zambia and the Centre for International Development and Training at the University of Wolverhampton.
