Through a new DFID-funded programme, the British Council is working to enhance the capacity of the education sector in Ethiopia.
The Quality Education Strategic Support Programme will provide technical assistance, management support and flexible funds to support partners to implement reforms, enhance policy dialogue and improve the evidence base in education.
The programme will build the capacity of the Ministry of Education, regional education bureaus and other stakeholders in Ethiopia to plan, design, implement and evaluate reforms and programmes to improve access, quality and equity across the sector.
Strengthening education policy dialogue and building an evidence base to promote a better understanding of education interventions will also be areas of focus.
Running until 2018, the programme has a total value of £10 million.
