Life in country

We know that packing up and relocating to a different country can be challenging both for you and your family. The British Council Families Association can point you in the direction of support once you are at post and we are always on hand if you need guidance and advice.

Have you just arrived?

Are you finding adjusting to the local language a challenge? Finding it hard to make new friends?

We know it can be hard to settle in since there is often a great deal to sort out in the first few days at post. That is why in most locations there will be a local point of contact to advise you on a range of topics. Get in touch with us if you need to find your local point of contact.

Networking

We know sometimes its nice to know there are other people in the same position as you. That's one of the reasons why we have a great online community on Facebook for you to network with.

Our Newsletter

Many people who are posted overseas read and contribute to the British Council Families Association newsletter. This way you can keep up-to-date with issues that affect members around the world. If you would like to contribute please get in touch!

Alternatively, if you are already a member you can view the latest newsletter using your password on our News and Events pages

Applying for British Citizenship (Naturalisation)

Many of our members do not have a British passport. The British Council supports applications for naturalisation because, as an employer, it is in our interest to make your relocation as easy and smooth as possible.

To receive support you need to become a member. If you have any questions about any of the above please get in touch. Alternatively, if you are already a member you can join us on Facebook by emailing us.
